Q: Why did you select Hebrews 13:20 for your "theme" verse A: Hebrews 13:20 (and including verse 21) was selected, not as a "theme" verse, but as a thought and prayer for every member of OCIH. Only four verses follow this passage in the book of Hebrews, and the author of Hebrews wrote it as a prayer to close the letter he was writing. The text of the verse is as follows (NIV): 20) May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, 21) equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Q: Why doesn't my site get listed in the member database when the site is updated? A: This could be caused by one of several things. First, the site may have been deemed unacceptable according to the standards set up by the staff of OCIH. Second, the site is updated automatically, and if the bot cannot find a link back to ocih.org it will pass over your site and not add it. Finally, when the bot tried to visit your site it received a 404 not found error message or other similar error condition. The bot is set up to try to contact your site for up to 120 seconds (2 minutes). If it is unable to contact the site (server problems, site doesn't exist, site down, etc.) it will pass by your site and not add it to the database. If you have submitted your site and you feel it meets all of these criteria, please resubmit your site and put in the comments section "MANUAL ADD" (be sure to use all caps). This will place your submission into a special section that the staff of OCIH looks at. If your site meets all of the criteria, the OCIH staff will manually add your site to the OCIH database. Our bot is an internally created piece of software, and it is definitely not perfect. We continually try to improve on its reliability, but it still has a long way to go. If you have submitted your site and it hasn't been added, please accept our apologies in advance. Q: When I submit my site, what do you do with the information I give you in the submission form? It is the policy of OCIH to never share the personal information of any of its members or anyone who has submitted or will submit their web site for consideration to be added to the database. In fact, the information is only used for the purpose of validating and adding the sites to the database. Once a site has been added to the database, the information submitted via our submission form is deleted from our computers. The only information retained on our members is the information publically available in their site listing. We do not keep a record of the names or e-mail addresses of our members. We feel that if the member wishes to give out their individual e-mail address for people to contact them on, they will list it in the contact section of their own web site. Q: Can I get a copy of all members' e-mail addresses, names, and web sites. OCIH does not keep a record of members' names and e-mail addresses. See the previous question for more information. | ||
